Pantoprazole Sodium Capsules are indicated for treatment of GERD, stomach ulcers, & erosive esophagitis. They exert their curative effects by blocking final step of gastric acid production which is achieved by binding of the drug to H+/K+ ATPase pump. These capsules quickly get absorbed through stomach's parietal cells and metabolized in liver by CYP group of enzymes. Pantoprazole Sodium Capsules have good bioavailability of about 77% with elimination half life of 1 to 2 hours.
